Aircraft insurance is just a too important factor to ignore, this is the reason why we want to bring it to your attention. During construction it can be an option to insure the kit as raw materials. This is a lot cheaper in your annual insurance cost. It can then be insured as an airplane when the kit is in ready to fly status.

MAC Finance has a very good deal: they have a special insurance called "aanbouwverzekering" aimed for those wanting to insure their aircraft when it is under construction. It's recommended: we have one too. For more info at Luchtvaartverzekeringen see section Aircraft Owner Plan.

For those interested in insuring their airplanes in the Netherlands: The NVAV has put in a lot of work for a collective insurance with a UK company, this has resulted in a good policy with some nice deductions. Check with the NVAV for more detailed information as they are the main contact on this deal. Ger May is the person to discuss this with.
