Liqui Moly Aero

Liqui Moly Aero

With the correct oil friction losses in an engine are reduced to a minimum. This is done by taking into consideration circumstances as engine usage, ambient temperature, time of year and climate, location and engine design. The engine manufacturer usually recommends a certain type of oil to use with regard to different circumstances.

Lubricating oil plays an important part in the life of the engine and during maintenance it will be replaced, on certified aircraft the pilot can only replenish it.

Without proper lubrication the engine would fail within minutes, keeping a watchful eye during flight is therefore important. Having a basic understanding of engine oil is a must for the professional and private pilot, here we can only scratch on the surface of a very interesting subject.

Liqui Moly Aero is an Austrian/German manufacturer of outstanding engine oils, additives and other care products especially for aircraft engines and owners.

Rotax Engine Oils

Liqui Moly Oil

Specially developed by LIQUI MOLY for 4-stroke aircraft engines. Liqui Moly recommends this product for Rotax engines of the 912 and 914 series. The product exceeds ROTAX Service-Instructions SI-912-016-R5 and SI-914-019-R5.

Even combined liquid and air-cooled aircraft engines are exposed to extreme thermal loads:

Think about cold starts during the winter period. Initial ascents on full power, long ascents, e.g. over the Alps or other mountain ranges, subsequent descents at low throttle – these all impose heavy stresses on the oil in particular.
Specially formulated additives guarantee high shear stability and ensure particular protection for the gearbox.

This product can be qualified as follows:

  • Secures optimum lubrication under all operating conditions
  • Ensures high shear and aging stability
  • Specially formulated additives provide cooler engine temperatures
  • Perfect high wear and corrosion protection
  • Suitable for slip clutches
