AeroConversions is a subsidiary of Sonex Aircraft LLC. They sell complete VW conversion engine packages mainly for the Sonex Aircraft builder community (or other suitable aircraft). The company has been active in the homebuilt aviation market since 1998 and are committed to cost effective, efficient aircraft and engine kits.
AeroConversions is a product line of high-quality powerplants, systems and parts for use in recreational aviation. Their product designers and engineers are dedicated to providing simple, elegant and low-cost solutions for sport flying. Simply put, AeroConversions products provide the best performance per dollar, giving power to the Light Sport Pilot / homebuilder.
AeroConversions uses the venerable four cylinder air cooled VW engine as basis for their aircraft application.
This is a complete VW conversion engine, it comes as a complete kit. Which, you will need some engine maintenance experience, can be built in 12 hours, but who is in a hurry? An assembly/ installation manual is included together with an instruction DVD.
The AeroInjector (providing maximum power and optimized fuel economy in a simple, reliable carburetor design) is also part of this engine kit.
The AeroVee features dual ignition, using two spark plugs per cylinder and including four independent, solid-state ignition modules, all driven directly off the crankshaft/flywheel assembly. The AeroConversions secondary electronic ignition provides extremely reliable starting under the toughest conditions, while adding 'dual-plus' ignition reliability by completing the AeroVees quadruple redundant ignition system.
